Who are Above Bounds?

Above Bounds was founded by Helen Bovey and George Boundy after graduating from East 15 Acting School on the BA World Performance Course. We set out with the aim to create innovative work for young audiences, bringing contemporary theatre to children and their families. We collaborate with a wide variety of artists including actors, musicians, illustrators and dancers.

We are based in the beautiful county of Devon  but have strong links in Suffolk and Essex. We feel strongly that theatre is for EVERYONE and aim to bring our work to a variety of locations and communities, breaking down the barriers which restrict access to theatre which include location, cost and language.

Our manifesto:

To create physical work with an interesting story at it’s heart, a story that can educate, entertain and inspire.

To work with a mixture of mediums, puppetry, mask and comedy.

To make work for everyone and to generate collaborations between artists and art forms.

To break down the barriers which restrict access to theatre including cost, location and language.

To create innovative work for families, made with families.
